Brief History

The history of this Gurdwara sahib dates back to year 1984, when 4-6 families took the initiative to build a worship place within Grande Prairie, as the nearest Gurdwara was in Edmonton (4-5 hour drive) at that time.
This Gurdwara includes the main hall, a kitchen and parking space. As with all Sikh Gurdwaras, the concept of langar is practiced, and all people, regardless of race or religion may eat in the Gurdwara kitchen (langar hall). The Langar (food) is prepared by volunteers who like to help out. At the Gurdwara. visitors are requested to cover their heads and not to wear shoes.
